Black Herbert Terry 1227
This timeless classic is a Herbert Terry and Sons 1227 lamp. This lamp has been electrically restored using a high-quality, 3-core braided fabric cable. Complete with safety bayonet bulb holder and low energy bulb.
This particular lamp is a fine example of the original Herbert Terry black finish and this particular example has the original paint!
This lamp comes complete with a low-energy LED bulb, a standard British 3-pin plug, and a silver switched bulb holder.
Please study the photos as they form part of the description. There are a few age-related marks that are to be expected with a lamp of age but this has been retained as the paintwork on the lamp is all original.
This lamp is being sold as a highly original example that shows its industrial heritage through its signs of wear. This heritage has been retained purposefully to retain originality for this rare and quality lamp.
History:
First designed by automotive engineer George Carwardine in the 1930's and made by Herbert Terry & Sons in Redditch, England. This lamp is part of the Model 1227 line made between 1938 to 1968 with its distinctive two-tier base and suits any room or interior.
